The OECD AI Policy Observatory, launched on 27 February 2020, aims to help countries
enable, nurture and monitor the responsible development of trustworthy artificial
intelligence (AI) systems for the benefit of society. As an inclusive online platform
for public policy on AI, the Observatory builds on the momentum of the OECD’s
Recommendation of the Council on Artificial Intelligence (OECD AI Principles), the first
intergovernmental standard on AI. OECD countries adopted the AI Principles in May 2019,
and a range of partner economies have since adhered to them. The OECD AI Principles also
provided the basis for the G20 AI Principles endorsed by Leaders in June 2019.
